Bubble Wrap and Babies
Christmas Eve / Fleming Kids
Christmas Morning
Christmas Preparations
Making sugar cookies and Grandma and Grandpa Grewe's house.

Helping daddy put on the tires for the Cadillac Escalade (bought for all the grand kids to ride at Grandma Patrice's house).

Getting his play time with the Escalade before it goes to Grandma's. He's really good at changing the radio station.

Nursery Orientation
Next month Bryson turns 18 months. This means he will be old enough to go to nursery at church. So a few weeks ago, on December 2nd, the nursery leaders had an "orientation" for the new babies that would be entering nursery soon. It was a chance for them to meet the ladies that would be with them for the 2nd and 3rd hours of church. There were supposed to be 2 other baby girls but one of the moms forgot (Joy!) There were a few other older siblings there. They played with the toys, got to know the rooms, had a snack time, and sang songs in a circle. For me, it was a sign that my little boy is growing up.
He loved pushing the cart around and playing with the cars.

Waiting patiently for his own place mat to eat his snack on.

So cute. He loved the stickers on it.

He finished all his food. Fruit, pretzels, string cheese...he even drank out of a cup like a big boy!

The nursery leaders are so sweet with the kids. This will be where Bryson learns his first church songs, makes friends with the kids that will be in his class for many years, and learns to be a sweet, kind spirit. Of course we're already teaching him these things at home, but being around others with the same goals sure helps. It takes a village!

Fire Trucks and Santa
Every year the Fire Department comes through our neighborhood with their lights and sirens, handing out candy canes and wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. They dress up like elf's and put Santa on top of the Engine. It's a fun and wonderful moment and this was the first time Bryson got to enjoy it. He was only 5 months old last year, in fact, I think I was the only one in my household who got to see it last year. Any way, we all got to see it this time, and it didn't disappoint!

49ers Game
About a month ago I had entered a contest to win 49ers tickets. It was a deal where you had to buy 4 cases of Coke product and you were automatically entered to win at the register. When the slip printed out at register, it said I wasn't a winner but I could fill out a slip, mail that in and try to win again. So I did, and on Wednesday Dec. 3rd I got a knock at the door and Fed Ex had delivered a letter. I had no idea what it was, and when I opened it, I saw 4 tickets to the 49ers/Jets game at Candlestick park for the next Sunday. I thought, what a cool wife I am and won't Brett be happy? While I'm not much of a football fan, I do enjoy going to a game, experiencing it live, and eating all the food. Brett was excited and we set out to find who could go with us. So a couple days later, on Friday Brett called me from work and said, "you'll never guess what happened. My lawyer called and offered us 5 tickets to the 49ers game." What? We now have 9 tickets to this game? Are you kidding me? We were having a hard enough time finding even two people to go with us. So what ended up happening was we invited our friend Scott to sit with us in the better seats with two empty seats next to us. Then Brett gave the other 4 tickets away to a friend and let him deal with finding buddies to go with. It turned out being a lot of fun. I brought blankets and seat cushions and enjoyed the foggy, cold weather in San Francisco. I ate my way through the game (angus burger, french fries, churro, peanuts, haagan daaz ice cream...) and loved watching my husband get excited over plays. I didn't have a clue what was happening on the field but I enjoyed the excitement of everyone else and the atmosphere.

Christmas Decorations
Getting ready for Santa.

Our tiny tree, set atop a table so Bryson can't reach it. Yet he's a tall boy, so now it has a baby gate around it. He's desperate for those candy canes! Why did I have to make it a candy/peppermint theme this year? It just enables his addiction.

Bryson's at the age where I can fill his stocking early and he doesn't even notice. I can also buy his presents while he's with me. Half the time he's already played with them while sitting in the cart. I'm going to miss that when he's older. When you have to get a babysitter just to go Christmas shopping.

This Nativity is awesome. It's huge! We had to put it on top of the t.v. to keep Bryson from playing with it. I need to get him the Fisher Price nativity.

I can't wait until Bryson's old enough to understand the Christmas stories I've been trying to read him. The ones with morals and values and that tell the true meaning of Christmas. Right now it's all very secular and he doesn't get it...but he will!
