"Kilt Day" At Church

Since Brett went on his mission to Scotland, Patrice (his mom) ordered a kilt for Bryson and gave it to him when he turned 1. Since there aren't many opportunities to wear a kilt, I decided to have him wear it to church. Everyone thought it was cute. He was even zeroed in on during Relief Society and all the women loved it. I gotta tell you, on a hot day like today, Bryson liked wearing a skirt. So refreshing!

Yoga Pants

I made these yesterday in an hour. Very easy, hand stitched (because I don't have a sewing machine yet).




Here's the fabric...yep, an old t-shirt. Size large. Go to makebabystuff.com for instructions. I can't wait to find some t-shirts with cool prints on them. Anyone care to make some donations? I'd love to take them off your hands. They need to be large or extra large.

New Project

I've been influenced by Katie's blog. She is a very crafty person and I would like to strive to accomplish some of the things she can do. I grew up with Katie (she's a few years younger than me) and we were in the same ward for years. Her whole family is very musical and talented. On her blog she shows some of the outfits she has made for her children and herself. Here's a skirt she made for her daughters first day of school in New York. It has cursive writing and an apple button accent. Could you just die!


So I went out and bought a bunch of material and a few patterns, hoping I could accomplish something just as cute for my little boy. I've already cut out the material for a cowboy themed jacket and trousers.

Here's the catch...I don't own a sewing machine!!!
In fact, all my sewing needs can be summed up with little tin can (a christmas present from mom). Have I put the cart before the horse?

Folsom Zoo and Train Ride

This was Bryson and Cameron's first time on the train. The last time I was on it I was 8 months pregnant. I don't think Bryson remembers that!

The animals weren't very active today, too hot probablly. But we still had fun!

Fall Decorations

Ahhh, Fall, my favorite time of year. I started putting my decorations out as soon as possible. This is the time of year when the house looks it's best.
This is an awesome candle holder for halloween.

I love decorating the mantle. Come New Years, I hate taking the decorations down...the house looks naked and I get depressed. I won't think about that quite yet.

Our beautiful boy, still the center of our attention. Cute letter F block from Joy and "Chatterbox Designs". The clock was made by my sister in law Julie for my bridal shower. Love it!

The pumpkins and fall leaves were decorations at our wedding recepion. We were married in November. Even the flowers in the tiered centerpiece were our wedding cake toppers. Gotta love silk!

Patrice got me these pumpkin soup server sets. I still haven't used them yet...Brett isn't a soup fan...but I love them as decorations!

Now I'm ready for hot apple cider, a few trips to apple hill, cool crisp air, trick or treating, cozy fireplaces and rainstorms...

Crazy Week

What a crazy week! I still have the vertigo, although not as severe. It's very annoying. I really feel it when I'm in a car, butterflies in my tummy constantly. So we are missing out on a trip to Pismo and Solvang for the simple fact that I can't imaging driving 5-6 hours with my head like this. We're missing out on Troy's baby blessing and that makes me sad. I went running today. Pushing Bryson in the stroller helped me keep my balance and it was such a beautiful morning. I hadn't run for the whole week because the vertigo would make me tired (like rocking a baby to sleep). It really lifted my spirits and made me feel better. I also had some other things happen to me during the week that threw me for a loop but I don't think I'll blog about it. Just know, I'm doing fine.
So since I haven't been able to concentrate on a computer screen for so long, I have some catching up to do. Here's some fun things we did before my "crazy week".


First of all, Happy 29th Birthday Brett (Sept. 11). So glad we were able to celebrate it. It was the day after when I started going down hill.
Ain't nothing that tastes better than a "melting" birthday cake.

Birthday lunch at Red Robin. Brett chose it so Bryson could get a balloon. Most of Brett's side of the family was there, sorry I didn't get everyone in the picture.

Shopping for Brett's presents before hand, Bryson got to play on the toys at Sunrise Mall for the very first time. He loved it!




We also enjoyed another "tea party" with Great Grandma Eloise. Both of Bryson's grandma's were there but I didnt' get a picture of all of us. These are the special years when he has no choice but to go and hang out with the ladies. I'll cherish them while I can.

Now I can't wait to catch up on everyone else's blogs. I'm going to make it to church on Sunday, so I'll see most of you then!

Vertigo

I've been suffering from vertigo since Thursday evening. There's fluid in my inner ear and the room is constantly spinning. Friday was the worst day, had to spend it on the couch. I can't even think about getting in a car so I've been stuck in the house, not able to do much. Brett's had to do everything. He's been wonderful. I can't look at the computer screen for too long, just wanted to let everyone know why I haven't been blogging much. I hope this passes soon.

Can't Wait Till Halloween!

I love dressing up, so I love Halloween (much to Brett's shagrin). I want all of these! Right now I can't decide if I want to be a Vampire (thanks to the Twilight series) or a pirate.
