Bryson's Birthday Party

Bryson's party was a luau theme. I figured, when he's old enough to have an opinion, he can pick out his own theme. This year the party's for the grown ups. I had an outfit for him that was from a friend who lives in Hawaii (thanks Heidi!) and it was perfect. I found some lei's that were supposed to be adult headbands, but on Bryson, they were the perfect size.

Brett was such a trooper. He was exhausted from the Pioneer Trek, but I put him to work on the kabobs. We had never grilled kabobs before. We were worried about how they would turn out. They were good, although next time I'll put more marinade on the vegetables, they could have used a little more flavor.

Yum, yum. Thanks Grandma's for all the help in putting these darn kabobs together. I couldn't have done it without you.

The big kahuna likes his kabobs!

The kids enjoyed the pool...

and the otter pops...

and the birthday cake...

and especially the presents!!

Bryson was so good at sharing his loot. Everyone seemed to have a good time.

He loves his "ride on" toys.

What a haul!

This was a great birthday!

Thanks everyone, for making this day such a special one. We have a wonderful family and are so blessed to share these moments with you.

Bryson's First Birthday

Bryson's birthday was on Friday, but we weren't having his party until Saturday. So we (the Grandma's and Aunt "T") went to Red Robin for lunch and had a mini party for him.

He opened a few of his presents...

and had some birthday cake.

Notice the "death grip" on the balloon Grams Grewe got him. He loves his balloons!

Dad and Grandpa couldn't be there because they were helping out with the Pioneer Trek all weekend. We missed them, but Bryson still had a good birthday!

Lamaze Birthday Bash

My "lamaze" group decided to do a combined 1st birthday party for all the babies. We went to Kemp Park and had dinner.
Back row, left to right: Dominic, Chase, Gabirel, Bryson
Front row: Alex (the girl) and Owen.

Karen made all the babies their own mini birthday cakes, complete with their first initial and individual color. Wow! That was really special.

None of them really knew what to do. We had to feed them a few bites, then they dug in!

I had brought a kiddie pool and filled it before hand. Then I let it warm up in a sunny spot. It was perfect for them to clean up in after the cake. Bryson didn't like the idea of having so many babies in his pool.

Then we played. Some went on the swings, some crawled around. Here's Bryson and Dominic playing with Alex's new buggy. (Bryson didn't know he already had one at home.)

It was a wonderful way to celebrate their birthdays. I'm so glad Bryson has so many friends!

Bryson's Most Recent Challenge

Brett taught Bryson how to drink out of a straw yesterday. All he did was put some ketchup on the drinking end, and Bryson slurped it right up! So at McDonalds today, I put some ketchup on his straw, he drank, and kept on drinking throughout the meal. Also, now that he has nearly 12 teeth, he gobbles up those chicken nuggets like nobody's business. I don't have to tear them up for him anymore. It's the little accomplishments each day that just amaze me at how fast our little boy is growing up.

My Little Gym

Here are some pictures of Bryson at "My Little Gym". He loves to wander away from mommie and explore the gym. Click on the pictures to see them bigger.

Always in motion! Making new friends. Here comes a backwards sumersault!

We Put In A Pool!

After many back breaking hours, and lot's of expense, we finally have a backyard pool. Are you jealous?

Bryson loves it, and mommie uses it to tan in when he's napping. It's nice to have somewhere to cool off without having to leave the house.

Cupcake Wrappers

Saw these on the Oh Joy blog. They're cupcake wrappers from paperorchidstationery.com
Too cute!

Bryson Walking

Bryson is gaining confidence in the walking department. He won't do it on his own yet, but he loves our reaction when he walks between us. We went to "My Little Gym" class today. He loved it! He was doing sumersaults, hanging with his strong little hands on a beam, doing "wheel barrow", playing with bouncy balls, bubbles, and bells, and crawling away from mama every chance he had. He loved being around such a lively group, and I loved seeing his personality shine through.

He's also been trying out his "kisses"(his version is sucking his cheeks in) and high fives. Also, "touchdown" is still a big part of his life, especially in his highchair when he's eating. He makes sure to rub all his food in his hair when he does it...mommies favorite!

Bryson's Bear

I had received a build a bear gift card when I was expecting Bryson. So when I was 8 1/2 months pregnant, I went to Arden mall and made my little boy a "firefighter bear". Here I am with it's heart on my head, after doing the "wishing dance".

So this morning, with his firefighter pj's on (thanks mom!) I couldn't resist pulling out the bear and having a photo op.

I think he likes it!

Bryson 1 year photos

My sister in law, Katrina, works at kiddie kandids and she took these photos. They turned out so cute.
